Aim:

Demonstrate in practice that plant protection products that are effective in controlling apple diseases are also allowed in organic orchards. Demonstration plots have been set up on farms to demonstrate the effectiveness of plant protection products compared to non-disease control areas. The demonstration provides an opportunity for the target audience to get acquainted with the possibilities of disease control in organic apple orchards in Latvia.

Objectives:

1. To set up two sample plots (at least 0.5 ha each) in each farm, where in one variant, plant protection products are not used for disease control, but in the other variant, basic substances are used for disease control.
2. To evaluate the effectiveness of the applied disease control methods.
3. To keep records of labor consumption for the application of disease control methods and to evaluate the economic indicators of the use of methods.
