Project description
Aim:
Developing environmentally friendly breeding, plant protection, storage and neutral processing technologies for Japanese quince, exploring the formation of hydrophilic and lipophilic compounds in the various stages of fruit development, undertaking an economic assessment of production, promoting a more rapid development of the crop and food sector and increasing export capacity.
Objectives:
1. Clarification of quince cultivation technologies using integrated and biological methods;
2. Identification of quince pathogens and invertebrates and testing of potential plant protection methods;
3. Expanding the use of quinces, bioactive compounds in fruits and by-products;
4.The economic rationale for cultivation and processing technologies;
5. Technology transfer activities.
