Project description

Project tasks:

  1. Study of the biology of the most significant pea pests (e.g., pea moth, striped weevil, etc.) in Latvia;
  2. Investigation of the diversity of pathogenic fungi in pea fields in Latvia (including DNA analysis to identify which fungi cause diseases);
  3. The impact of legume cover crops on the spread of harmful organisms (monitoring on farms);
  4. The after-effect of peas on the yield indicators of the subsequent crop and on soil quality indicators (with emphasis on nitrogen balance).
